This application was done by ACC in conjunction with Sarah Locke, one of the young slalom paddlers. It means that we can buy some new junior slalom boats and some gates. Hooray!

Yalding - March 27/28 2010Sat March 27 results - click here to download pdf Sun March 28 results - click here to download pdf Report by Graham Devenish An intrepid bunch team from Adur led by Coach Danny went to see what they could do at the first Slalom race of the season in Division 3 and 4. The venue was Yalding Weir, and Danny assured everyone it was so shallow you could punt your way round the course... Hmmmm, with the heavy rain the week before the river levels had risen about 1 metre and the water was anything but calm - challenging more like! From Adur, on the Saturday we had Andy and Alex, as well as Sarah and Annabel Locke. From AOAC we had an Adur guest, Jenny Willett. They all went out for unofficial practice, to learn the course and the water ñ a few wobbles were evident as they all got used to the water! Official practice then came and went, with only 1 swimmer from Adur... Official runs then took place, and all completed both runs - GOOD EFFORT!! Final placings for Saturday were that Alex got second in Div 4 C1, and got promoted Jenny won Div 4 K1 women and got Promoted Andy won highest placed "master" (Veteran by another name!!) and 4th in Div 4 K1. Sarah came third On Sunday Alex couldn't attend as we were buying another Open in Ipswich, but looking at the results Andy came second and got Promoted to Div 3, Sarah came third again and all finished the course ñ We also had a number of "Adur Informals" and they all did well also. Altogether a great weekend, with thanks to Danny for his limitless enthusiasm, as well as his Video and Laptop for instant criticism!!! (Always constructive) Highlights of the day;
