POOL RULES

The following club rules apply to Adur Canoe Club pool sessions and are a subset of the Adur Canoe Club rules.

1. DUTY INSTRUCTOR
There must be a Duty Instructor. A pool kayaking session must be supervised by at least a level 2 coach AND a Wadurs pool lifeguard. At least one of these (normally the lifeguard) must be “on lookout”, not engaged in coaching.

3A. MEMBERS
Everyone must report to the Duty Instructor, sign the day sheet, and pay any subs.

3B. VISITORS
You can attend as a visitor up to three times. Please report to the Duty Instructor, on your first visit complete the day member form, always sign the day sheet, and pay any subs.

4. CODE OF CONDUCT
The Duty Instructor, Lifeguards and the Club's Guidelines for Paddlers must be obeyed. Particular points from the Guidelines are:

  1. No more than 14 boats permitted in the pool at any time.
  2. Equipment from outside brought into the pool must be clean.
  3. All participants to adhere to Wadurs safety rules.
  4. Do not “rush about” boats.
  5. No swimming in the pool except for rescue or coaching purposes.
  6. Wear a helmet and/or faceguard if so instructed. Particularly if standing in the pool and throwing boats over-end, or playing polo.

7. UNACCOMPANIED JUNIORS
Juniors are welcome, but we cannot accept unaccompanied children under 12. If an under-12 wishes to paddle, parents or guardian must be prepared to stay around during the session.
