How old do I need to be?
You need to be over 8, If under 12 you will need to have a Parent/Guardian/Responsible adult stay with you throughout the session. If you are over 12 and under 18 a responsible adult will need to bring you to the session and be readily available if needed. If you are over 18 then no worries!
How do I book or pay for things?
If you want to book a Pool Session or a place on a club trip then head on over to here. As far as possible we try to be a ‘cashless’ club and we use an on-line system for most bookings and payments called webcollect; the ACC page can be found at https://webcollect.org.uk/acc
What do I need to bring?
We can provide a lot of the kit you will need including a boat, paddle, buoyancy aid, helmet and cagoule. You will need to bring appropriate clothing:
- Wetsuits in the Winter,
- Tracksuits or similar in the Summer
- Wear stuff you are happy to get wet
- Swimming cossie for pool sessions
- Clothes to change into afterwards – and a towel
- Suitable footwear – none needed at the pool
- A drink and some energy snacks
- A positive, happy attitude 🙂
What will it cost?
This is detailed on the membership page
What experience do I need?
None! But we do need you to be moderately comfortable in the water and able to swim 50m.
Where and when do you meet?
What trips do you do?
We offer a variety of trips covering kayak, canoe, white water, surf, camping etc. typically we have one trip a month and normally there is no charge for members to attend these. Trips are organised via our Facebook page but details can be found on the Calendar and News/Updates pages.
What if I don’t use Facebook?
Facebook is the club’s primary communication tool and we use it to share information about sessions, trips, events etc. We have tried other communication methods but none are as effective as Facebook. Many members successfully use Facebook solely for their Club activities and have no other social media ‘presence’.
